What is the Red River Baptist Association?
We are the cooperative mission efforts of 42 Baptist Churches and works from 7 counties in the southwestern part of Arkansas. Our Mission is to be "churches working together to carry out the Great Commission."" (Matthew 28:18-20)
We were founded in 1848, and 167 years later we continue to support each other through fellowship, church and ministry starts, development of missions to reach our world for Christ, and strengthening of existing churches through training and consultations. All 42 churches and missions of Red River Baptist Association are also affiliated with the Arkansas Baptist State Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention.
Our vision is simple: That the 42 Churches and missions of Red River Baptist Association continuously see themselves as involved in "Local Missions with a Global Vision." (Acts 1:8)
As such we believe that a vision of our mission field smaller than "the field is the world" (Matthew 13:38) is just too small! At the same time we recognize that all missions and ministries are always carried out in a local setting. We must hold both those truths in balance.
